Victor Manuel
Víctor Manuel San José Sánchez, better known simply as Víctor Manuel, is a Spanish singer, songwriter, and film producer. Husband of the singer Ana Belén as well, he represents together with her one of the most iconic figures of the Spanish song of the transition, which defended citizens' rights and freedom of expression.
Born in Asturias in 1947, his career was interrupted on numerous occasions by the censorship of the Franco regime, until massive success finally arrived in 1979 with 'Soy un corazón tendido al sol'. Víctor Manuel has always been a heartfelt and committed singer-songwriter who, without leaving politics aside, has known how to address themes such as love, freedom, and poetry in his songs.
His extensive career includes up to 30 studio albums, numerous collaborations, active participation in the SGAE Authors' Society, and the production of three films.
