62 scientists explain URV research at the Pint of Science festival in Tarragona
Science bursts into the bars of Tarragona and nearby areas this week with more than 60 talks that bring together researchers and the public in an unexpected and relaxed atmosphere.
From May 18 to 20, cities such as Tarragona, Reus, Amposta, and Tortosa host the Pint of Science festival, an initiative where nearly half of the speakers are from the Rovira i Virgili University, presenting their research from multiple disciplines and local and international centers.
A festival within everyone's reach
Where and who participates
The presentations take place in iconic bars such as Sala Zero, 12 Topos, and Totem Café in Tarragona; As de Copes Gastropub and Racó de l’Orfeó Reusenc in Reus; La Llar d’Amposta; and Botànic and Lo Punyetero in Tortosa.
The range of speakers is wide: from young researchers to veterans of research from institutes such as ICIQ, IPHES, IRBCatsud, EUSES, CNRS, or Imperial College London, among others.
A global network with local roots
This festival, held simultaneously in 27 countries, places Spain as the second country with the most participating locations, with over a thousand talks. URV, with its prominent presence, becomes a showcase of the scientific talent in the region.
Entry is free and the full agenda is available at www.pintofscience.es.

In Tarragona and Reus, the initiative has the support of local institutes and associations and several bars that facilitate the activity and make it accessible and lively.
Science over drinks, in case you hadn’t heard. With URV at the forefront, dissemination doesn’t stay at the university but spreads among beer and conversation.
