Junts presents 63 amendments to improve infrastructure and health in the Ebro
63 amendments submitted by Junts to strengthen key investments in the Terres de l'Ebre. A package that touches on transport, industry, and health but arrives amid general indifference.
The parliamentary group of Junts, led by Mònica Sales, made public on Friday, June 19, 2026, a set of amendments aimed at reversing the situation of neglect in which, according to them, the Ebre finds itself within the Generalitat’s budget.
Key details of the submitted amendments
Industrial estates and road infrastructure
The bulk of the amendments focus on economic development and connectivity:
- Execution of the Urban Master Plan (PDU) for the Catalunya Sud industrial estate.
- Drafting of the project to expand the La Plana de Gandesa industrial estate.
- Construction of the new access to the AP-7 in Montsià.
- Study for a new roundabout on the C-12 in Móra la Nova.
- Improvements to the C-43 road in Gandesa.
Health and social services
Proposals are also included to improve healthcare, a highly demanded need in the area:
- New facilities at the health centers in Deltebre and Sant Jaume d'Enveja.
- Clinic in La Pobla de Massaluca.
- Implementation of the geriatric service at the Amposta Regional Hospital.
Reactions and positions
Junts' cry to the Generalitat
Mònica Sales, president of the Junts parliamentary group, expressed her disaffection forcefully:
"The Ebre continues to be a footnote in the budgets," she lamented, making it clear that the territory needs more than words.
Expected responses and follow-up
The amendments are part of a long list of 1,300 submitted by different groups, but they are the ones directly aimed at addressing structural shortcomings of the Terres de l'Ebre.
It will be a matter of seeing which ones end up being part of the final budgets and how long it will take for them to translate into real work.
Context and local impact
The need for investment in the Ebre
The Terres de l'Ebre have accumulated decades of underfunding. The demands for the expansion of industrial estates and improved access are not new but are urgent to boost economic activity and retain population.
How these amendments affect the community
If executed, these investments could mean:
- Better road connection for those who travel daily between municipalities.
- Increase in job opportunities due to the expansion of industrial estates.
- Access to closer and more specialized health services, especially geriatric.
All in all, a table of changes that may not yet seem imminent but remains a hope for many.
But, as always, the question remains: how long will all this take to be more than words and promises?
