The Institut d'Estudis Vallencs inaugurates an exhibition on the occasion of "Barri en Flor 2026"
The Grup de Nadal joins one of the most eagerly awaited events of the spring in Valls: the Barri en Flor. An initiative that transforms streets and squares into an explosion of colors and floral art.
The Commerce Department of the Valls City Council promotes this celebration, which this year takes place in the Sant Roc courtyard, where different artists from Valls contribute their personal vision based on the theme of flowers, in a colorful pictorial exhibition.

Origin and purpose of the initiative
Barri en Flor is born as a project to invigorate local commerce and encourage citizen participation through floral art. Every spring, the neighborhood dresses itself in nature and creativity, becoming a space for expression and gathering.

This year, the Sant Roc courtyard is the main venue where the collective floral art exhibition can be visited. In addition, workshops and activities related to decoration and gardening are planned for all audiences.

The Grup de Nadal offers a proposal that combines tradition and innovation, using flowers as a symbol of celebration and renewal. The artists from Valls, for their part, offer a variety of styles reflecting the creative diversity of the territory.
The origin of the name Grup de Nadal d'Artistes Vallencs comes from the fact that, for 80 years, around Christmas time, artists from Valls have united to hold a group exhibition of their works. Hence the name of the group, which had always exhibited during the Christmas holidays, but this year they have stepped out of their winter setting to participate in the spring events organized by the Valls City Council, together with the Institut d'Estudis Vallencs.

Residents and visitors can visit the Sant Roc courtyard and hall in Valls to contemplate the creations and, in some cases, interact with the artists. Participation is free and intended to foster the bond between the community and art.

Barri en Flor can be visited throughout the spring, with activities especially scheduled during weekends.
- Tuesday to Saturday (Afternoons): 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays (Mornings): 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
- Monday: Closed

Access and recommendations
The Sant Roc courtyard is located in the center of Valls, inside the building of the old Sant Roc hospital, near Plaça del Pati de Valls. It is accessible on foot and with nearby parking. It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes to enjoy the route through the neighborhood if you want to admire the floral compositions with which residents and merchants are decorating streets, balconies, and shops.
