Highlighted activities from Monday to Wednesday
79th National Rose Exhibition Contest at the Bartrina Theatre
Start the week with an explosion of colors and fragrances at the Bartrina Theatre, hosting the 79th National Rose Exhibition Contest. Visitors can tour the exhibition from 9:30 to 12:30 and from 17:00 to 20:00. An opportunity to enjoy nature in the form of floral art.
Presentations and lectures you can’t miss
Tuesday 12th, at 19:00 in the Emili Argilaga Room and also online, the novel Return to the Origins. The Lost Notebooks of Antoni Gaudí by Sònia Casas is presented under the auspices of the Amics de Gaudí de Reus Association. A literary journey to discover the genius from a new perspective.
Wednesday 13th, at the same time and place, the lecture Salvador Vilaseca, scientific hiker arrives, a tribute to the 125th anniversary of the Hiking Section of the Reading Center. Jaume Massó, historian and archaeologist, brings us closer to a key figure in local culture.
The cultural core of Thursday
Dialogue on 40 years of adhesion to the European Union
Thursday 14th, at 19:00 in the Emili Argilaga Room and virtually, a debate to analyze 40 years of the European Union. Sergi Barrera (European Parliament in Barcelona), Salvador Sedó (former European deputy) and Jordi Baró (Brussels correspondent) put on the table a critical and revealing assessment of European integration.
Opening of the exhibition "Holy Week in Reus"
Likewise, at 19:30 in the lobby of the Reading Center, a photographic exhibition opens portraying the city’s most emblematic religious tradition. The show, by Francesc Amorós, Cesc Escoda, Cesc Martí, Florentí Moyano and Francesc Sabaté (Fotocat.cat), will remain accessible until May 31.
The week ends with literature
Presentation of the novel The Joy of Hispania I: al-Mansur
Friday 15th, at 19:00 in the Emili Argilaga Room and online, the presentation of Josep M. Llort’s new work will be shared. Led by the author and Ramón Sanz, this novel promises to captivate with its view of the peninsula’s historical past.
