Eat the Market 2026: 20 Unique Tapas and Gastronomic Festival in Reus
The night of May 30 in Reus dresses up for a party with more than 20 exclusive tapas at the Central Market. Menja’t el Mercat reaches its 13th edition with proposals that will make even the most demanding palates salivate.
The gastronomic festival, organized by the stallholders themselves, will take place on the last Saturday of May, from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., with food, drinks, and shows for the whole family, as confirmed by the Reus City Council.
The tapas you can’t miss at Menja’t el Mercat
A varied and renewed offer at the Central Market
This year, more than 20 stalls are preparing exclusive tapas, from escalivada spiny lobster to fuet tartare or prawn rice. This wide range is collected in a leaflet that makes it easy to find each stall and its location.
Classics such as cod carpaccio or homemade croquettes remain present, while new stalls like Boletaries del Pirineu or Xarcuteria Jordana add freshness to the party. Additionally, Valira returns with an interactive game for visitors.
Prices and tickets: eat and drink without breaking the bank
Combined tickets are sold in advance from May 22 and on the day of the event at two points inside the market. For 12 euros, you can enjoy three tapas and two drinks.
If you prefer à la carte, each tapa costs 3 euros and drinks 1.50 euros. Wine will be served in a personalized glass at the three catering venues in the Market: SOHO by Tarraco Sea Food, ADN Sistaré, and La Parada bar.
Music and shows for all ages
A festival that goes beyond food
The party is not just about eating. At 6:30 p.m. outside, the Circus of the Shrews opens with juggling and magic. Inside, singer-songwriters welcome the first guests with Fito Luri and Xavier Pié.
Then, on the terrace, more than 40 Gospel Hoppers singers fill the air with music while the Tarragona Swing Association invites everyone to dance Lindy Hop.
A family atmosphere with activities for everyone
The family and musical performances complete the offer, turning the Central Market into a meeting place for neighbors and visitors. The party combines tradition and novelty, with a touch of art and popular culture.
The local value and collaboration that make the party great
The support of the stallholders and the quality of fresh products
Councilor Josep Baiges highlighted that Menja’t el Mercat has established itself as a key spring event in Reus. He emphasizes the involvement of the stallholders, who prepare tapas with fresh products and bring a gastronomic value that is hard to find in other festivals.
The extra effort of the stallholders is what keeps the party alive and attractive year after year, with an offer that combines authenticity and innovation.
Collaborations that drive the festival
The Reus Chamber of Commerce provides materials for the organization, while this year’s image is renewed based on an original watercolor of the Market’s main façade, created by Crealia.
Thus, Menja’t el Mercat not only takes care of the food but also the aesthetics and the overall visitor experience.
Who can resist tasting these tapas when the Central Market transforms into a festive meeting point? Menja’t el Mercat is proof that in Reus, gastronomy and culture always go hand in hand.
