More than 2,100 secondary school students have discovered the Rovira i Virgili University up close during the two open days held this 2026 in Tarragona and other campuses. Accompanied mostly by their families, they took the opportunity to learn about the educational offerings and facilities of the URV.

The events, held in February and on April 24, have allowed local students to delve into the degrees offered by the University, visiting classrooms, laboratories, and the CRAI, as well as resolving practical doubts about internships, job opportunities, and mobility abroad.

An essential visit for future students of Tarragona

Study plans and URV facilities

The twelve faculties and schools of the URV have showcased their entire educational offering so that young people can get to know the degree study plans. With the help of faculty and current students, visitors have been able to better understand what awaits them if they choose to study at the URV.

The visited spaces are not limited to classrooms but also include libraries and laboratories, key points for learning and research. This immersion helps students envision university daily life more clearly.

Interest in internships and job prospects

What has captured the attention of future students the most are the practical aspects of the university. External internships and job opportunities have been at the center of questions. This concern shows that students are looking for more than theory: they want to ensure that their education connects with the job market.

International mobility has also aroused much curiosity, with options to study abroad that the URV actively promotes.

Active participation and expansion of information offerings

The role of faculty and students

The heads of the different areas have been present to personally share their experiences and help visitors clear up any doubts. This direct interaction provides a realistic and approachable view of university life.

Questions have focused not only on academics but also on sports activities, volunteering, and university outreach, which form an attractive and comprehensive offer beyond the classrooms.

Online sessions for those who could not attend in person

To leave no one behind, the URV has also offered online informational sessions over recent months. Thus, students who could not visit the campuses in person have had access to all the information needed to make decisions.

The complete degree offering can be consulted on the URV website.

Local impact and future perspectives

Strengthening the connection between URV and Tarragona students

The large attendance demonstrates that the URV is a consolidated option for young people in the area. This direct link helps ensure that the educational offering better responds to the needs of the local community.

The centers at the Catalunya, Bellissens, Sescelades campuses, and the Vilafranca site actively participate to attract talent and encourage studying locally.

A qualitative leap in local educational decision-making

The interest in the practical aspects of training and international mobility indicates that future students want to prepare themselves for a global job market. The URV positions itself as a key player for families and young people seeking an education with real opportunities.

With more than 2,100 visitors in two days, it is clear that the university is not a mystery but a living and accessible project for secondary school students in Tarragona.

If you missed it, you can always recover the information and plan your visit or enrollment with URV online. The university will be waiting for you, fully prepared.
