14th Abilities Festival to promote equality
The initiative, now in its 14th edition, is the result of collaboration between the social entities of the Capacities Network and the Department of Community Action, with the support of the Local Plan for Inclusive Community Action (PLACI), and with the collaboration of many organizations from Valls. The event presents itself as a key space to showcase the capacities of all people and promote an inclusive perspective in the city of Valls.
The 14th Capacities Festival in Valls
Date and location
The festival will be held on May 21, 2026, at Plaça del Pati, an emblematic place in Valls that will host various activities for all audiences. This date coincides with the activities of the Capacities Week, which extends until December 4, in commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Functional Diversity.
Event objectives
The event’s main objective is to make visible the skills and talents of people with functional diversity. At the same time, it aims to promote full inclusion and break down social barriers by focusing on adapting the environment to guarantee everyone’s participation.

The Capacities Week in Valls
Motto and initiatives
Under the motto “I am capable,” Capacities Week takes place throughout November and early December. This initiative is driven by the Capacities Network and the Department of Community Action, with the support of PLACI, and seeks to raise awareness among citizens about functional diversity and equality.
Activities and participation
During this week, talks, workshops, and other initiatives are held to encourage reflection on how to adapt the territory to make it more inclusive. Although the detailed program for the May 21 festival can be seen on the poster above. In this second poster, the concert by DJ Adrià Abadia is announced, at 6:30 p.m. at Plaça del Pati in Valls.

How to participate and contribute to inclusion
Any person or entity can join the festival and the activities of Capacities Week, contributing to a fairer and more inclusive society. Community involvement is key to transforming local reality and giving a voice to functional diversity, proclaiming I AM CAPABLE!
