Tarragona opens two exclusive dog beaches this summer. Owners will now be able to bring their pets to areas adapted for them in the city.

The Dog Spaces are located at the Miracle and Llarga beaches and will be operational starting tomorrow, as announced by the Tarragona City Council.

Dog beaches: location and hours

Where are they located?

The two dog areas are in strategic points along the Tarragona coast. One is at Miracle Beach, very close to the urban center, and the other at Llarga, a larger and quieter beach, ideal for walking with a dog.

When will they be open?

The beaches will begin operating from tomorrow and will remain open throughout the summer season, allowing residents to enjoy time with their animals in a safe and designated space.

Benefits and rules for users

Why a dog beach?

Creating specific spaces for dogs prevents conflicts with other bathers and provides an environment where animals can run and play freely, improving coexistence between residents and visitors.

What rules must be respected?

Owners are required to pick up waste and respect the designated area guidelines. Safety must also be ensured for both the animals and other beach users.

Context and local reactions

City response

The initiative has been well received among dog lovers, who welcome having an official space to walk and bathe their animals without problems.

Other cities with similar measures

For years, several coastal towns have been working on enabling dog spaces on their beaches. Tarragona thus joins the trend to improve coexistence and the local tourist offer.

The Tarragona dog beaches open the door to a summer filled with more adventures for everyone, without having to leave behind their best four-legged friend.
