Reus has become an irresistible magnet for European grassroots futsal. It is not just a tournament; it involves thousands of people, endless matches, and a frantic activity that overwhelms the city and the Costa Daurada.

During May and June, two major sporting events will take over Reus and neighboring municipalities, attracting teams from all over Spain and abroad, with an economic and social impact that shakes any forecast.

ASB Futsal Costa Daurada Cup: the European giant of grassroots futsal

A massive gathering with international presence

From June 12 to 14, the seventh edition of this tournament promises to be organized chaos. More than 2,500 people—players, coaches, and family members—will arrive at the Costa Daurada, generating over 6,000 overnight stays and 134 teams competing from Catalonia to France and England.

The clubs come from very diverse places: Madrid, Valencian Community, Balearic Islands, or Aragon, and even Andorra. This mix makes the competition as intense as it is unpredictable.

Reus, the neural center with a more competitive format

The city becomes the epicenter of the tournament with the Municipal Olympic Pavilion as the main venue. With more than 300 matches spread over 22 courts including municipalities like Salou, Cambrils, Tarragona, or Mont-roig, the pace is relentless.

A novelty that will cause a stir is the inclusion of the Gold and Silver phases after the group stage, a twist that promises more excitement and equality in the final stretch.

Facilities and institutional support

Councilor Enrique Martín emphasizes that these tournaments bring constant life to sports facilities and a visible economic return for the city.

Impact and repercussion in the Costa Daurada

An economic engine beyond sport

These two tournaments are a clear indicator that Reus and the Costa Daurada are experiencing a sporting boom that translates into tangible economic activity.

Collaboration and sporting future

The joint support among organizers, clubs, and institutions shows that Reus wants to establish itself as a benchmark in grassroots futsal. The strategy is clear: fill the year with sporting activity that attracts visitors and passersby.

The city confronts monotony with events that will break the routine and delight athletes and fans for weeks.

And who knows, in a few years, Reus might go from being a local epicenter to a true European capital of sport for youth categories. For now, what is certain is that the ground trembles under the passion for futsal.
