N-420 between Pradell and Riudecols receives 2.2 MEUR to rehabilitate the pavement and road safety

The Ministry of Transport allocates 2.2 million euros to repair the pavement of the N-420 between Pradell de la Teixeta and Riudecols. This action also includes the restoration of road markings and the adaptation of containment systems to ensure safer traffic.

The road, which crosses three municipalities, will see the upper layer of the pavement redone and improvements installed that directly affect driver safety. Warning, this is not just about resurfacing.

What exactly will the works involve?

The works affect the section between kilometers 849.6 and 856, a distance of 6.4 km that passes through the municipalities of Pradell de la Teixeta, Duesaigües, and Riudecols. The current pavement will be cold recycled up to 9 centimeters deep and then a new layer 5 centimeters thick will be applied.

Why is this action relevant now?

This investment is part of the Extraordinary Plan for the improvement of pavements in the State Road Network, which has a total budget of 1.629 billion euros. The N-420 is a key route for mobility between Priorat and Baix Camp, and renewing its pavement will improve user safety and comfort.
