Youth from Tarragona work on the rehabilitation of public spaces while preparing for their entry into the labor market.

The project arises from a collaboration between the Municipal Brigade and the Workshop House to strengthen the maintenance of the streets, paths, and urban furniture of the city.

Collaboration between local entities

The Municipal Brigade and the Workshop House

The Municipal Brigade, responsible for urban maintenance in Tarragona, has joined the Workshop House to offer young people a double opportunity: to learn in a real environment and help the city stay in good condition.

Project objectives

This collaboration seeks to reinforce the rehabilitation of public spaces with the active participation of young people, while they prepare for the labor market, a combination that benefits the city and its inhabitants.

Rehabilitation of public spaces

Interventions on streets and paths

The participating youth work on the repair and maintenance of streets and paths, areas that often suffer wear from continuous use and weather conditions.

Urban furniture

Furthermore, the project includes the rehabilitation of urban furniture, such as benches, trash bins, and other elements that are part of the daily landscape of the people of Tarragona.

Preparation for the labor market

Practical and professional training

The youth receive practical training that equips them with skills and experience to face the job search with more assurance.

Social and labor impact

The program not only improves public space, but also helps reduce youth unemployment by offering real and valued experience in the labor world.

In the end, Tarragona gains a better cared-for city and better prepared youth. And that, is indeed good business.
