Vila-seca expands the Blue Bus with 2 new lines and more frequencies starting in September

The Blue Bus of Vila-seca grows with a new line and more stops starting September 1, 2026. This change aims to improve mobility between La Pineda, Vila-seca, and the Plana neighborhood, with more frequencies and direct connections.

Since 2020, the Blue Bus has transported more than 213,000 passengers, and now the City Council is committed to making it even more accessible and efficient, keeping the service free for users with VilaCard.

What does the new L3 line bring to La Pineda?

The L3 line connects La Pineda with almost all the facilities in Vila-seca without needing to transfer at the Plaça dels Països Catalans. This means you can reach health centers, train station, senior residence, and cultural and sports spaces in the municipality directly.

The frequencies between Vila-seca and La Pineda increase to 25, 30, or 45 minutes to facilitate faster and more comfortable trips. This improvement is key because these two hubs are the most populated and have the highest public transport demand.

The annual cost of the Blue Bus, fully assumed by the City Council, is 872,614.98 euros. It currently has two buses, and the incorporation of a new articulated and fully electric bus is planned.

During the coming winter, new shelters, improved signage, and other infrastructures will be installed to facilitate the use of the service. In addition, the electric bus will replace the current one on line L1, another step towards sustainable mobility.
