More than 400 people participate in a cultural weekend that explores the emotional landscapes of Miró, Picasso, Gaudí, and Casals in Mont-roig del Camp.

Imagine about ten people running through the streets of Mont-roig del Camp, solving puzzles to "recover" an iconic painting. It is not a dream, but the reality of a cultural weekend that has excited more than 400 participants. All this with the invisible yet very present presence of four geniuses who marked Catalan culture: Miró, Picasso, Gaudí, and Casals.

The project "The Landscape of the Geniuses" has left its mark by spreading its activities throughout Mont-roig del Camp, Horta de Sant Joan, Riudoms, and El Vendrell, with proposals for family audiences and locals. These experiences connect with the spaces that inspired these artists, from visual landscapes to emotions that still beat in these places.

The emotional landscape that moves Mont-roig del Camp

An escape room to "recover" La Masia

In Mont-roig del Camp, a group of about ten people participated in an outdoor escape room, where they had to interact with the environment to solve the mystery of the theft of Joan Miró’s painting "La Masia." This activity is not only a game but also a way to relive the artist’s connection with the landscape of the area, which was key to his work.

Connection between art and territory

The project leader, Eva Martínez, describes the initiative as a proposal that "eats, lives, and drinks" the landscape. In other words, a complete sensory experience that goes beyond simple cultural tourism. This methodology makes participants feel like they are part of the cultural legacy that Miró, Picasso, Gaudí, and Casals left in these territories.

Activities spread across the province

Horta de Sant Joan and Riudoms: beyond Mont-roig

In addition to Mont-roig, the cultural program has extended to Horta de Sant Joan and Riudoms. These spaces offer activities that explain the influence these geniuses had on their work, with a focus on proximity and family audiences. This strategy seeks to foster an emotional connection with the territory from a very direct and tangible angle.

El Vendrell and Pau Casals’s legacy

El Vendrell, the birthplace of Pau Casals, has been key to raising awareness of the musician’s footprint. The proposed activities invite participants to discover how the local landscape and culture influenced one of the most internationally recognized musicians, connecting past and present in a very intimate way.

A weekend with more than 400 participants

Impact on the local community

More than 400 people participated in this weekend, a number that reveals the growing interest in this type of cultural experiences that combine play, art, and territory. This massive participation reinforces the idea that the public seeks more experiential and interactive ways to connect with cultural heritage.

Future perspectives of the project

The project "The Landscape of the Geniuses" does not only want to be a one-time event but a model of how culture and territory can be articulated to capture the attention of locals and visitors. With activities that invite participants to "live" art, the proposal could mark a new way of doing cultural tourism with a strong emotional impact.

Jordi Fernández and his girlfriend, as he states in the video, just wanted to enjoy the Bad Bunny concert they had been waiting years for, and they were able to do so — but he was left with a bittersweet feeling, since he wanted to see Benito up close to the stage, but the organization took that dream away from him.

Context and details of the Bad Bunny concert in Barcelona

Dates and location of the concert

On May 22, 2026, the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium in Barcelona hosted one of the most anticipated concerts of the year: Bad Bunny on his European tour. The city became the epicenter of a massive party that gathered thousands of fans of the Puerto Rican artist.

Attendees' expectations and types of tickets

Fans purchased different types of tickets, including VIP and the well-known early entry, which allows access before the rest. Many paid up to 600 euros hoping for a privileged experience, with space to dance and enjoy from the front row.

#badbunny #badbunnyconcierto #badbunnyentradas #badbunnyvip #badbunnypr ♬ sonido original - Jordi Ferrández

Popularity and impact of the concert

Bad Bunny is a global phenomenon, and Barcelona was no exception. Tickets sold out quickly and the social media impact was massive. However, not everything was euphoria: some criticisms about the Bad Bunny Barcelona concert organization began to circulate, focusing especially on the VIP area.

Problems in the VIP area: testimonies and evidence

Testimony of Jordi Fernandez and other attendees

One of the most notable testimonies was from Jordi Fernandez, an influencer who posted videos on TikTok showing the situation in VIP zone 4, located next to Bad Bunny’s well-known “little house.” In these videos, attendees can be seen trapped, with no space to move or breathe comfortably.

Jordi criticizes especially the lack of assistance from security personnel and denounces that, despite paying a high ticket price, they could not enjoy the concert as expected.

Situation of confinement and safety risk

According to various testimonies, the area was so overcrowded that some attendees feared being crushed against the barriers. The sensation of suffocation and panic became evident with cries like "we can’t breathe". These conditions clearly pose a safety risk for attendees, who ended up asking security to open a passageway to be able to exit.

Emotional impact and public reaction

The tension ended in a moment of emotional crisis for some: hugs and tears upon seeing that they could finally free themselves. This experience marked the atmosphere, generating disappointment and discomfort among those who had paid a lot for privileged access.

Response from promoter Live Nation and management analysis

Live Nation’s argument about capacity and pressure

Live Nation, responsible for Bad Bunny concerts in Spain, has denied there was overcrowding. They assure that the capacity is certified by engineers and that the "pressure" in certain zones like the “little house” is normal due to the concentration of interest.

Confusion between VIP and early entry: the communication problem

The promoter clarified that the zone where the problems occurred was not exactly VIP, but an early access (early entry). This confusion has caused discomfort among attendees who paid more expecting VIP service and a comfortable space to enjoy the concert.

Criticism of security personnel management

Videos and testimonies denounce a lack of adequate response from security facing the suffocation situation. Jordi Fernandez recounts that security did not act to facilitate immediate exit nor to reorganize the crowd distribution, which has provoked criticism of security management during the event.

Conclusion and reflections on large-scale event organization

The importance of good organization in mass concerts

Concerts with thousands of attendees require organization that guarantees security and comfort for all. Overcrowding and lack of space not only affect the experience but also endanger the integrity of fans.

Recommendations for future concerts and promoters

Better plan space distribution to avoid crowding.

Train and coordinate security personnel to detect and act quickly in risk situations.

Clearly communicate the features and limitations of each type of ticket.

Clear differentiation between ticket types and their value

It is essential that ticket promotion accurately reflects the services and advantages they offer. Calling a ticket VIP that only allows early access generates frustration and mistrust. Clarity would avoid misunderstandings and subsequent claims.

The reality is that, in this case, responsibility lies with the organization’s management and not the artist, who offered an impeccable concert despite the circumstances.

Discover the presentations, workshops, lectures, and film club that the Reus Reading Center offers from May 25 to 31, 2026.

The Reus Reading Center leaves no one indifferent this last week of May with a packed agenda of activities that go far beyond the book. Presentations, lectures, and workshops that focus on culture, history, and social inclusion.

From May 25 to 31, 2026, this landmark institution of the city rolls out a program that invites everyone to participate both in person and online, with a range of options that no reader or curious person should miss.

Monday and Tuesday: Literature and heritage with a critical eye

Presentation of the novel La bassa

Monday 25 at 7:00 p.m., in the Emili Argilaga Room, the novel La bassa by Meritxell Benedí Altés is presented. Accompanied by Noemí Llauradó, president of the Tarragona Provincial Council, and Empar Pont, president of the Reus Reading Center, a story is brought to the table that does not waste the author’s political experience to construct a literary guide about toxic relationships.

More than an essay, it is a literary artifact that explores how first impressions can be misleading and how the true faces emerge over time. A novel that leaves no one indifferent because recognizing these dynamics is more common than we like to admit.

125 years of the Excursionist Section and presentation of Anys foscos

Tuesday 26, also at 7:00 p.m., there are two proposals: in the Emili Argilaga Room and virtually, the 125th anniversary of the Excursionist Section is celebrated with a photographic montage that captures the journey of the Flame of the Catalan Language, a work by Josep M. Beltran.

Simultaneously, in the Ramon Amigó Room, the presentation of Anys foscos. Consell de guerra contra un maqui by Enriqueta Moix Maré and Josep M. Vallès Martí brings us closer to the figure of Ramon Vidal Garrell, a leader of the CNT and protagonist of a story of resistance and exile that still sparks debate and emotion today.

Wednesday and Thursday: Lectures and closing of workshops with social impact

The keys to the United States with Javier de la Sotilla

Wednesday 27, at 7:30 p.m., the Emili Argilaga Room and its virtual version host the lecture “The United States of Trump,” given by Javier de la Sotilla Puig, Washington correspondent for La Vanguardia and RAC1. A vivid and direct portrait of American politics and society that will not leave you indifferent.

Closing with a reading on peace

Thursday 28 at 7:00 p.m., the aloud reading of texts about peace marks the end of the Read Aloud Workshop, under the direction of Rosa Mateu. It is an event that connects participants and spectators with a necessary and current message.

Later, at 8:30 p.m., the Bartrina Theater hosts the Film Club with the screening of No hay otra opción, a Korean film by Park Chan-wook that promises to provoke more than one reflection.

Friday and Saturday: Innovation and inclusion to close the week

Local conversations and visual art

Friday 29 at 7:00 p.m., the Emili Argilaga Room and its virtual version open the cycle “Conversations of Local Interest” with a lecture by Josep Cruset Vallverdú that deciphers the story behind the most iconic photograph of the Reus vermouth, a classic that is much more than an image.

In the Fortuny Room, at the same time, the screening and performative lecture Efímer, by Mariaelena Roqué, connects with the artistic and collaborative side with museums in Tortosa and Valls.

Music therapy workshop for families with functional diversity

Saturday 30 at 10:30 a.m., the Hortensi Güell Room offers a workshop that is not only for children with functional diversity but for the whole family. Led by psychologist Montserrat Navarro, this safe and welcoming space allows sharing experiences and well-being through music, with songs, games, and relaxation.

A free activity with a clear goal: to make everyone feel part of an inclusive community.

The schedule of the Reus Reading Center this week makes culture accessible, versatile, and committed. If you haven’t put eyes or ears on it yet, maybe it’s time to do so.

Josep Mateu Pérez and his son Josep Mateu Besora captivated Valls with a concert that sounded "almost heavenly." Instruments such as the positive organ, organetto, flabiol, and tambourine transported the audience centuries back, breaking the idea that all old music in the church is religious.

On May 12th, at the church of Sant Antoni, an acoustic jewel of the city, a show was experienced that blended tradition and interpretive precision. This evening is part of the Nits de Clàssics, a must-attend event in Alt Camp.

The impeccable performance of fascinating early music

Instruments and repertoire that resonate

The positive organ, a portable organ, was the sonic soul of the concert. Accompanied by flabiol, tambourine, tambourine, castanets, and other percussion instruments, the duo unfolded a rich and diverse repertoire. Medieval works and baroque pieces, both from the Iberian Peninsula and Italy, were played, surprising with their freshness and depth.

Secular music in the church

Although performed in a sacred space, the music was not religious. The evening highlighted the secular music of the time, created for festivals and celebrations, such as the well-known Ballo del Granduca, composed for a wedding. This perspective offers a broader and more interesting view of the ancient musical heritage.

The great research and dissemination work of the artists

A rigorous and passionate work

Josep Mateu and his son not only perform; they meticulously research each piece to respect historical authenticity. This investigative work is key to preserving and spreading a heritage that often remains confined to specialized circles.

Spreading heritage to the general public

With concerts like this, early music leaves the museum to reach everyone. Its cultural and emotional value becomes accessible, and people can enjoy an experience that expands the soul and inspires.

A concert to enjoy the senses and expand the soul

A unique experience in Valls

The acoustics of the church of Sant Antoni helped create an intimate and magical atmosphere, ideal for this music. The sound of the instruments, delicate yet vibrant, transported the audience to other times with a rare intensity.

The cultural and popular value of early music

The music performed is not only musical heritage but also living popular culture. Thanks to musicians like Josep Mateu and Besora, this legacy remains alive and accessible to new generations.

Who knows if we will always be able to enjoy shows like this, with artists who not only play but save our cultural history in such an elegant and intense way.

From Modernet we have recovered a recorded concert of Josep Mateu, father, and Josep Mateu, son, so you can enjoy this spectacular music if you could not attend the event on May 12th.

Cultural and heritage awards at the night of Valls

Awards for safeguarding heritage and history

Among the 16 awards being called for, the recognition for safeguarding cultural and architectural heritage stands out. Thus, Daniel Maria Segú Roca and the Alt Camp Regional Tourism Service with the initiative “Xala l’Alt Camp” have been honored for their contribution to keeping local heritage alive.

Also awarded with the 41st Award for the Safeguarding of Architectural Heritage is the collaboration between CB Germans Galofré Mercadé and the Catalan Agency for Cultural Heritage, which highlights the most emblematic heritage elements of the region.

Awards for historical research and journalism

The history of Valls has been brought to the forefront with the project Secrets of a 19th-century gilded painter from Valls, awarded the XXCIII Rodon-Giró historical research prize. This initiative, driven by local professionals, sheds light on the local artistic tradition.

Regarding journalism, the Setmanari el Vallenc has received the XL Cristina Requena Giró Award, a recognition promoted by the Ciutat de Valls Foundation that represents the importance of rigorous and committed information regarding Valls' reality.

Castells and education: pillars of Valls culture

Awards linked to castells

Castells are an unquestionable symbol of identity for Valls and the region. In this sense, the XIII Isidre Rabassó Award for casteller identity has recognized the careers of Francesc Xavier Orriols Sendra and Francesca Roig Galceran, while the XXXI Joan Ventura i Solé Award for casteller journalism went to Josep Torreño Domínguez.

These awards highlight the vitality of a tradition that is not only lived in the squares but is documented and defended by the media and civil society.

Awards for educational initiatives

Education also has a relevant space with the VII Josep Moncunill Cirac Award, granted to the Egueiro Association and Jaume Huguet Institute for innovative projects that promote learning and culture in the classrooms.

Additionally, the Eladi Homs School has received the XXVI Award for civic initiative to celebrate its 40 years contributing to the social and cultural cohesion of the city, a clear example that education and culture go hand in hand.

Culture as a driver of visibility and cohesion in Valls

The role of awards in cultural dynamization

These awards not only recognize careers and projects but also act as a driver to make Valls and Camp de Tarragona’s culture visible. Valuing the different cultural expressions helps reinforce rooting and a sense of belonging.

Rewarding effort in heritage, education, journalism, and traditions like the castells serves as a reminder that behind every initiative there are people and groups working to keep intangible and tangible heritage alive.

Thanks and congratulations to the awardees

We must strongly congratulate all the winners for their dedication and passion. The Ciutat de Valls Foundation, together with the City Council of Valls, the Chamber of Commerce, and other collaborating entities, are the architects of this significant awards ceremony, which not only exalts culture but reinforces its future.

The 43rd Night of Awards of Valls is not just any celebration: it is the celebration of the culture that unites us and projects us beyond the territory.

Reus, considered the capital of Camp de Tarragona, thus reaffirms its connection with culture and floriculture, making it clear that the rose is much more than a flower: it is an identity and cultural symbol.

Instagram Contest and cultural projection in Reus

Winner of the digital contest

A new dimension of this event is the Instagram contest #rosesCLR2026, which this year awarded the photograph “Roser Joaquima Gallisà Reus2” signed by Joan Mateo Marco. This initiative connects the younger, digital audience with the floral tradition.

Importance and institutional support

The National Rose Exhibition Contest, organized by the Centre de Lectura with the collaboration of the City Promotion department of the Reus City Council, is a key element of the “Roses of Reus” campaign. Since 2021, this campaign has promoted Reus as a tourist, gastronomic, and cultural reference centered on the rose, strengthening the city’s image and its heritage.

That occasionally promoting going to the cinema is a good initiative to fill the screening rooms, considering that many people have already gotten used to doing the "big home screen with popcorn, sofa, and blanket," taking advantage of the great offerings on platforms like Netflix, Max HBO, Disney +, Filmin, or Amazon Video. But there are still many of us who believe that watching a good new release movie at the cinema is the best.

The Cinema Festival 2026

From June 8 to 11, cinema halls across the territory will offer tickets at 3.50 euros, an opportunity that cannot be missed. In fact, this initiative, promoted at the national level, promises to reactivate the cinema culture in Tarragona, Reus, Valls, and the rest of Camp de Tarragona.

Kinosaure, besides being a cinematic preview, is also a show, the Kinosaure. This is a unique film proposal that brings cinema out of the screen. The sessions are aimed at children from 2 to 12 years old and offer the viewing of a calm and child-friendly film, accompanied by a show, with games, participatory activities, music, cinematic objects, and special guests that leads to celebrating and experimenting with the multiple possibilities of the seventh art. Kinosaure activities transform the cinema hall into a playful and festive space to enjoy with family and friends.

Valls and Tarragona are experiencing a unique moment for philosophy lovers. An initiative that recovers a often forgotten heritage draws the attention of the city and its cultural area.

Coordinated by Bernat Torres Morales and Emma Grau Cabré, this proposal unfolds throughout 2026 in the capital of Camp de Tarragona, with the support of the Catalan Society of Philosophy and The House of the Classics.

What is this philosophical initiative in Tarragona?

Objectives and coordination

The initiative aims to reclaim and revitalize a philosophical heritage that often remains in the background.
Heritage and local culture

The proposal connects the city with Catalan philosophical roots, offering an opportunity for residents and visitors to explore and rediscover texts and thoughts that have been overshadowed.

Key dates and locations

During 2026, Tarragona and its immediate area will host various activities related to this initiative. La Casa dels Clàssics is one of the nerve centers where presentations and debates will take place. In this case, in Valls, admission is free, on Wednesday, May 13, at half past seven in the evening.

Impact and value for the community

Revitalization of heritage

With this initiative, Tarragona reinforces its cultural commitment, valuing a legacy often ignored but fundamental to understanding our society.

Citizen participation and projection

The residents of the city and the Camp de Tarragona have an appointment with philosophy that opens doors to new perspectives and enriching dialogue. It is not only for experts but for anyone who wants to discover more.

The Grup de Nadal joins one of the most eagerly awaited events of the spring in Valls: the Barri en Flor. An initiative that transforms streets and squares into an explosion of colors and floral art.

The Commerce Department of the Valls City Council promotes this celebration, which this year takes place in the Sant Roc courtyard, where different artists from Valls contribute their personal vision based on the theme of flowers, in a colorful pictorial exhibition.

Barri en Flor in Valls: a festival that blooms every spring

Origin and purpose of the initiative

Barri en Flor is born as a project to invigorate local commerce and encourage citizen participation through floral art. Every spring, the neighborhood dresses itself in nature and creativity, becoming a space for expression and gathering.

Highlighted spaces and activities

This year, the Sant Roc courtyard is the main venue where the collective floral art exhibition can be visited. In addition, workshops and activities related to decoration and gardening are planned for all audiences.

The role of the Grup de Nadal and local artists

An artistic contribution with its own perspective

The Grup de Nadal offers a proposal that combines tradition and innovation, using flowers as a symbol of celebration and renewal. The artists from Valls, for their part, offer a variety of styles reflecting the creative diversity of the territory.

The origin of the name Grup de Nadal d'Artistes Vallencs comes from the fact that, for 80 years, around Christmas time, artists from Valls have united to hold a group exhibition of their works. Hence the name of the group, which had always exhibited during the Christmas holidays, but this year they have stepped out of their winter setting to participate in the spring events organized by the Valls City Council, together with the Institut d'Estudis Vallencs.

How to participate in the exhibition

Residents and visitors can visit the Sant Roc courtyard and hall in Valls to contemplate the creations and, in some cases, interact with the artists. Participation is free and intended to foster the bond between the community and art.

Practical information to visit Barri en Flor

Dates and hours

Barri en Flor can be visited throughout the spring, with activities especially scheduled during weekends.

Access and recommendations

The Sant Roc courtyard is located in the center of Valls, inside the building of the old Sant Roc hospital, near Plaça del Pati de Valls. It is accessible on foot and with nearby parking. It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes to enjoy the route through the neighborhood if you want to admire the floral compositions with which residents and merchants are decorating streets, balconies, and shops.

The Valls Commerce Department and the local artists reiterate their invitation to enjoy this festival that, year after year, grows the community spirit and love for nature.

Tarragona transforms each year into the stage where ancient history becomes present in a unique and vibrant way. Tarraco Viva is much more than a festival: it is a direct journey to the Roman era that captivates locals and visitors alike.

The days are celebrated in Tarragona, the capital of the Camp de Tarragona, and combine dissemination, culture, and heritage in authentic archaeological spaces, without makeup or artificial sets.

Objectives of Tarraco Viva in Tarragona

Historical dissemination for everyone

The main driving force of the festival is to make the value of ancient history accessible to everyone. It is not just about preserving heritage, but about making it alive and understandable. The idea is that anyone can reflect on the past and understand how it influences our present.

Reenactment group where you can see and learn how the Roman army lived and acted. Photo by Tarragona Turisme.

Conservation and citizen awareness

The festival also aims to raise awareness about the importance of protecting historical heritage. This implies demanding human and economic resources —and this can only be achieved through the pressure and active participation of the citizens.

Functions and events that define the festival

A quality cultural product with tourist impact

Tarraco Viva is not a simple leisure event. Its programming is designed to create cultural tourism that values Roman heritage. For this reason, activities and communication are designed with rigorous criteria, focused on heritage and history.

Citizen participation and heritage management

The days allow citizens, even if they are not professionals, to contribute ideas and participate in heritage management. This strengthens the bond between the city and its history.

Listen to this monologue, one of many that we will enjoy at Tarraco Viva, to tell us "firsthand" the story of the people who lived at that time.

Programming and criteria of the Tarraco Viva festival

Monumental spaces and historical truth

All activities take place in archaeological sites and Roman monuments, avoiding festive or commercial places. Tarragona is shown as it is today, without costumes or artificial decorations. This commitment to historical truth makes the experience more authentic. You can consult the program of activities at this link.

Didactics over spectacle

The educational value is a priority. Tarraco Viva is not a performing arts festival, but a space to learn and understand history through original productions and activities designed for dissemination.

It is also worth highlighting the importance of the reenactment and experimental archaeology groups that participate, bringing a live and tangible dimension to the past. They are not just spectators but protagonists who help better understand Roman life.

With more than 20 years of existence, Tarraco Viva has become an international benchmark event where experts and the public meet to share their passion for history.

The reality is that Tarragona lives its history. And if you don’t believe it, you only have to walk through the streets during the festival to see how past and present intertwine without filters or artifices.

Plan your visits well and buy the tickets for activities that require a fee. And don’t delay, as many tickets for various activities are already sold out, and from personal experience, more than one has missed seeing some shows in previous editions.

With three days full of debate and experiences, it reviews the path started on January 1, 1986, when Spain and Portugal joined the Union. But this is not an act of nostalgia: it is an open window to understand what has changed and what remains to be done.

The cycle: a view from different fields

Inaugural dialogue with European weight

The first event, on May 4, opened the debate with a face-to-face between Xavier Prats Monné, former Director General of Health and Food Safety and later of Education and Culture at the European Commission, and journalist Griselda Pastor, correspondent in Brussels for Cadena Ser. The conversation highlighted the challenges and advances in European policy over four decades.

Focus on the agricultural sector

On May 7, the spotlight was on the countryside, which has been key since the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) absorbs a quarter of the EU budget. Experts such as Eduard Bes, Joaquim Brufau, and Pere Guinovart offered a critical and realistic analysis of how this policy has impacted local counties.

The European Parliament in debate

Direct impact on citizens

The cycle concludes on May 14 with a panel gathering Sergi Barrera, head of the European Parliament Office in Barcelona, Salvador Sedó, former European deputy, and Jordi Baró, correspondent for Catalunya Ràdio in Brussels. They explain the parliamentary day-to-day life and how European decisions affect daily life.

Perspectives and future challenges

These testimonies provide an updated view of the Parliament’s role in a changing and complex context, with challenges such as the climate crisis, digitalization, and social cohesion. They invite us to think about what to expect in the coming years within the Union.

40 years in Reus: what does it mean for citizens?

Voices from the region

The Centre de Lectura aims to give prominence to local voices linked to the EU so that the debate does not remain abstract or distant. Personal and professional experiences allow understanding the real scope of this adhesion and how it has translated into opportunities and challenges for the inhabitants of the area.

A balance with a critical view

The reflection is not an idyll: policies, budget priorities, and shortcomings seen over these 40 years are questioned. This makes the balance alive and necessary, not a simple static reminder.

The Centre de Lectura de Reus not only commemorates but also proposes an open and sincere conversation about what being part of the European Union has meant. It is an exercise of transparency but also of hope, so that after 40 years of journey, the citizens can understand and debate their role in a Europe that never stops changing.

Discover Sirat, the film by Oliver Laxe arriving in Tortosa on May 28. Cinema that leaves its mark at the Chamber of Commerce.

A journey through the desert that leaves no one indifferent. This is how Sirat, the Oliver Laxe film arriving in Tortosa next May 28, is presented. A cinema that shakes and invites personal search, wrapped in the rave atmosphere.

The screening will be at the Tortosa Chamber of Commerce at 7 p.m., with an entrance fee of 4.50 euros. It is part of the Gaudí Cycle, a must for cinema lovers who want to escape clichés and search for stories that leave a mark.

The film that breaks silences in the desert

Oliver Laxe and his unique perspective

Oliver Laxe is no ordinary filmmaker. His ability to capture inhospitable landscapes and genuine emotions has earned him international recognition. With Sirat, he delves into an intense journey through the desert, a place that serves as the backdrop for a narrative full of symbolism and inner exploration.

Raves and introspection, a contrast that works

The desert and raves seem like opposite worlds, but in Sirat they merge to tell more than a story: a sensory experience that forces one to look within. This contrast is what makes the film shake the viewer and leave an unforgettable imprint.

The Gaudí Cycle in Tortosa: a space for different cinema

A programming that bets on quality

The screening of Sirat is part of the Gaudí Cycle, which every year brings Catalan and Catalan-speaking films to Tortosa that seek to break molds. This initiative allows spectators to enjoy auteur cinema at affordable prices.

Location and accessibility

The Tortosa Chamber of Commerce, where the session will take place, is a cultural meeting point that facilitates access to proposals like this. The marked date is May 28 at 7 p.m., a schedule designed to facilitate local audience participation.

How to prepare for the screening visit

Tickets and reservations

Tickets cost 4.50 euros and can be purchased through the official website of the Tortosa Theatre Auditorium. It is advisable to buy them in advance since capacity is limited and interest in this film is high.

Other cultural recommendations in Tortosa

If the film has left you wanting more, Tortosa offers a rich cultural calendar combining cinema, theatre, and music. It is a city that asserts itself as a cultural meeting point in the province of Tarragona.

The reality is that Sirat is not a film to watch just any day. It is for those who want a visual and emotional shock, a journey that, like the desert it portrays, can be harsh but indelible.

Fyodor Dostoevsky, one of the greatest writers of Russian literature, teaches us that erring by following your own path is living freely. Discover how this lesson still makes an impact.

Dostoevsky made it clear that it is better to make mistakes following your own path than to succeed on someone else’s. This phrase, which sounds like advice from a wise man, hides a universe of freedom, error, and identity that still shakes us today.

The literature of this illustrious writer explores human psychology within the complex political, social, and spiritual context of 19th century Russian society, and his ideas have influenced modern literature and various schools of theology and psychology. His thoughts can be perfectly extrapolated to today’s society and no one is immune to this reflection: in a world that pressures us to take the safe path, this Russian author reminds us that freedom is choosing even if you make mistakes.

Freedom as a human necessity

Freedom beyond being right

Dostoevsky did not understand freedom as a constant correctness, but as the possibility to choose. After facing death and prison, he saw that the human being does not only seek comfort but the ability to choose, even if that implies suffering or falling.

This lesson is evident in Notes from Underground, where the protagonist rejects the idea that we always act rationally for our own benefit, and champions the act of choosing according to one’s whim, even with negative consequences.

Psychology confirms the intuition

Sabadell psychologist Jenny Moix (author of several books such as Flexible Happiness or My Mind Without Me) agrees: there are no perfect decisions, only decisions coherent with who we are at that moment: "Let whoever has never regretted throw the first stone."

Cognitive biases can hinder choice, but human freedom always manifests itself in internal coherence, not in external perfection.

Mistake as an affirmation of the self

Raskolnikov and the search for identity

In Crime and Punishment, Dostoevsky presents Raskolnikov, a man who commits a crime to test who he is and what he can become. It is not just a mistake; it is a declaration of intentions and a process of self-definition.

This highlights that sometimes mistakes are what define us and allow us to grow as people, especially when the safe path squeezes us.

AI recreation of Fyodor Dostoevsky writing his novels.

Mistakes and the construction of identity

Following others’ paths may prevent visible failures but distances us from genuine happiness. Carl Rogers’ humanistic psychology reminds us that happiness comes from internal coherence, not from always getting it right according to external norms.

Mistakes are part of the process of being who we are, not just an obstacle to avoid.

Living without guarantees and with responsibility

Accepting the uncertainty of living

Life does not offer guarantees. The key is not to avoid failing, but to accept that we will and to move forward without being paralyzed by fear. This is the condition for an authentic and fulfilling life.

Compassion for oneself in the face of mistakes lightens the path. What awaits us is not a harsh judge, but a friend who understands the reasons behind our decisions.

When error is an ally, not an enemy

Ultimately, stopping seeing error as a defeat and beginning to understand it as a manifestation of the courage to choose is what makes us unique. In this society we live in, as in many others around the world, this message resonates among those who seek to live with meaning rather than security. Dostoevsky tells us this clearly between the lines of his literature: Act despite making mistakes, get up, learn the lesson, take action again, and learn to live with freedom and one’s own judgment.

Perhaps it is not that we are afraid of making mistakes. Perhaps it is that we do not know how to love error enough as part of ourselves.

Seeing death up close makes you love life in a brutal way. This is the direct and raw confession of Empar Moliner, journalist and writer who makes no concessions when talking about what really matters. But, what happens when the end is near and you have to keep living?

The Celebration of Living and the Proximity of Death

An Unfiltered Look at the Human Experience

Moliner does not hide her irony nor her precision when she sketches the final chapter of a writer who knows she has little time left. Her novel, set in the routine of a daily journalist — a direct reflection of her own experience at Ara — tackles death with a tragicomedy that swings between sarcasm and desperate love.

But what really captivates is not the drama or fatality, but the way the protagonist learns to love life, even if it is with the brutal force imposed by the awareness of the end. What a celebration life is, they say, despite everything.

The Local Context and Dialogue with the Reader

Among the readers of Tarragona, where daily life blends with history and modernity, this message resonates with a community that knows well the value of time and the weight of memory. The novel is an invitation not to waste time on trivialities, to live each moment intensely, to make time an ally and not an enemy.

Empar reminds us that, even in crisis — whether it be a family crisis or that of the written press — there is an urgent need for love and care.

The Crisis of the Press and the Irony of Column Writing

From Paper to Screen, a Battle with Humor and Realism

The book does not escape the reality of the written press, something that in Tarragona, with its local newspapers and journalistic tradition, is experienced with some disenchantment. Moliner confesses that, despite her initial promise never to read without paper, she now embraces the duality: analog and digital.

This duality is a metaphor for her life and work: adaptation, resistance, and irony in the face of change, but with nostalgia intact. Her writing, they say, is a tribute to column writing, that art of turning daily denunciation and reflection into an act of cultural resistance.

The Role of Family and the Cost of Caregiving

Beyond the journalistic world, the novel puts family crisis front and center, the wear and tear of relationships that death and illness can bring. Moliner does not sugarcoat anything: she talks about the cost of caregiving and love when time is running out. And she does so with prose that leaves no room to breathe, that traps and ultimately makes one think.

It is a perspective that not only affects the protagonist writer but can be transferred to any household, where family networks are deep and complex.

Seeing Death to Love Life: Empar Moliner’s Philosophy

An Urge to Live More Intensely

Seeing death close is not a punishment, but a driver to love life with an intensity many ignore. Moliner says it clearly: "Don’t waste time, please. What a celebration life is!"

This statement is almost a moral imperative for a society often caught in unsubstantial distractions. Here, where culture and history invite personal examination, this message is a jolt that leaves no one indifferent.

The Value of Art and the Word Against Absence

Empar Moliner’s work is, ultimately, an act of resistance against oblivion and disappearance. Through the word, irony, and tragicomedy, she recovers life and love, even while confronting death. This is culture of thought in its purest form: a conversation with reality without useless embellishments.

But, look at that, it is not just literature: it is an invitation to rethink how we live and how we relate to what we know will inevitably come.

In the end, after reading Moliner, one is left with a clear feeling: life is brutal and precious, and it deserves the greatest celebration.
